With the June Primary Election filing period now in its 2nd week the surprise has been among those deciding to take a pass rather than pursue their campaigns. That led to Oceanside Councilmember Jerry Kern backing out from his plan to run for the 76th seat he thought was being vacated by Chavez.  The political musical chairs continued in East County when, over the weekend, State Senator Joel Anderson decided the Senate was a better place for the time being and abandoned his plan to try and unseat County Supervisor Dianne Jacob.  Undoubtedly more political moves will occur as the filing period continues to March 10th.
