Stormwater Alternative Compliance on Track for Utilization
By Mike McSweeney
The City of San Diego is half way to their goal of working with stakeholders to have a viable Alternative Compliance (AC) program in place by 2018. The BIA has a number of members with specific skillsets on the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) who have been volunteering their time to create a program where, if suitable for a project applicant, they can mitigate their stormwater/hydromodification obligations off site utilizing the AC program.

The TAC’s work should be complete by June 2018, which leaves the City staff to prepare ordinances and work the program through the City legislative framework culminating with Planning Commission hearings and finally City Council approval. If you’d like to know more, attend a BIA Stormwater Task Force meeting or contact Mike McSweeney at the BIA.
