The Housing Champion Award honors someone with more than two decades working in affordable housing. Sauder is the president of Wakeland Housing and has spent 35 years in the industry. At Wakeland, he has overseen the development of 6,700 apartments in California. “Throughout his career, Sauder has exemplified strong leadership and an unwavering dedication to serving lower income families and those in need,” judges said.
