County to Increase Construction Debris Recycling Requirements

By Mike McSweeney
The County of San Diego plans to expand their construction debris recycling requirement and is soliciting feedback from our industry. The deadline to submit initial comments is Friday, November 30th by 5:00pm. Please send any comments you may have to: Eric.Wolff@sdcounty.ca.gov

The County is expanding their program to include smaller renovation projects as well as tenant improvement work. A public meeting will be held in May 2019 to solicit final input after stakeholders review a draft of the proposed ordinance. This year long process to prepare an ordinance will culminate in County staff bringing this ordinance to the Board of Supervisors for approval in October of 2019 with requirements beginning in January of 2020.

If you have and questions contact Mike McSweeney or Matt Adams at the BIA.
