Carlsbad CAP To Be Discussed At January North County Legislative Committee Meeting
Last year, Don Neu, Carlsbad’s City Planner, and David de Cordova met with the BIA North County Legislative Committee to talk about Carlsbad’s Climate Action Plan (CAP). Mr. de Cordova will be our guest speaker at our January 9th lunch meeting to present the ordinances submitted for City Council consideration in late February.
The meeting is from noon-1:15pm on Wednesday, January 9th at the Del Mar offices of Sheppard Mullin. He will be there to share with BIA members the work they’ve done and to answer any questions. This meeting is open to any interested members who wish to learn more about the Carlsbad’s CAP plan and implementation requirements.
The CAP was adopted in conjunction with Carlsbad’s General Plan update in 2015, and aims to reduce GHG emissions through various programs, measures and activities. Among them are implementing ordinances related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, alternative water heating, electric vehicle charging and transportation demand management (commuting). The ordinances will apply to new construction and major renovations of existing buildings, both residential and non-residential. For more information or to RSVP (required if you’re not a regular at North County Legislative Committee meetings) contact Mike McSweeney at the BIA.
