BIA Cares Hits Bullseye with Trap Shoot

By Nancy Diamond
BIA Cares held its 5th Annual Trap Shoot Fundraiser, August 16th at the Lemon Grove Rod and Gun Club in Alpine.  The Trap Shoot raised $16,000 for BIA Cares, the charitable foundation of BIA San Diego ~ “The field of 80 enthusiastic shooters (teams of 5) lined up to take their best shots; competition was friendly but fierce,” said Karen Amelio, Event Chair and BIA Cares Life Director. Emmerson Construction “Good Shooters” earned bragging rights as Top Shots and barely edged out 2nd Place Sudberry Properties “Trap Squad” with H.G. Fenton Company’s “Fenton Fighters” in 3rd Place.

Top Guy Shooter honors went to John Suster (Emmerson Construction) and Top Gal award to Dabrena Swartwood (H.G. Fenton).
Breakfast was provided by BIA Cares (Lora Heramb and Sue Dowd) with Ryan Meyer of Architectural Sign Consultants providing a delicious pulled pork lunch for hungry teams with post competition beer provided by Pacific Island Beer Company.
